PacWest Academy is a cooperative of teachers committed to 21st Century learning with today's learners, who face today's challenges - socially, economically and educationally - to allow the students we work with to become who they need to be to achieve, lead and progress in the world that they will inherit, the world that they will change and that is changing daily. PacWest Academy is a non-traditional approach at traditional education. We offer college prep, general high-school level, credit recovery and middle school level courses online in real time on a per-course choice, via independent study, or through a blended approach. What does this mean exactly some may ask? What it means is that our students have class meetings where the teachers and the rest of the students actually meet, just like a traditional class, where we all interact together, where we can see each other, and hear each other, and where we can learn from each other, just like in a traditional class, yet we don’t all have to be in the same room, or even the same city, or time zone. It's called synchronous e-learning and we have found it to be very successful with high-school education. We understand that each student has unique talents and passions that need nurturing and support. Our approach is entirely student focused. Our teachers are experienced in educating the entire child, fostering every student's personal development. In addition to our commitment to academic excellence, PacWest encourages students to recognize the importance of honesty, civility, respect for others, and public service.The dual mission of this extraordinary alternative high school is to provide each student with a meaningful education while earning their high school diploma, preparing for college transfer, or a future in a competitive sport. PacWest Academy accepts all students appropriate for this model of education, and is specifically interested in students pursuing a career in the motorsport industry. If they ride, drive, wrench, fix, or plan on pursuing a career in motorsports, we may be the right decision for your student. We keep our class sizes very small and our teacher to student ratio very low. At PacWest, we take the time to make the connection to our students and their families. We know our students and they know us.
